
The Islamic Institute of America
The Islamic Institute of America, Founded in 2015, is located in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, USA. Founded by Imam Sayed Hassan Qazwini and funded by community donations, the institute is made up of over 1000 families with diverse ethnicities. The IIA is a not-for- profit 501(c)3 charitable organization with tax exemption status. Centered around education, the Institute promotes the teachings of Islam following the traditions of the Ahlulbayt. The IIA is comprised of a board of trustees, board of directors, and board of education. The leadership is made up of individuals with various professional, personal, business, and educational backgrounds including businessmen, public officials, educators, doctors, lawyers, and parents. The IIA also has an active interfaith office that works within the local and national community as it represents Islam in churches, synagogues, mosques, colleges, and other faith organizations.
Events catering to both English-speaking and Arabic-speaking audiences include Friday prayer, Youth programs, Sunday breakfast, Quranic Tafsir classes, Ramadan programs, Ashura programs, and Islamic retreats, among many more. Over the years, the IIA has empowered leaders dedicated to servitude and community engagement to provide these programs to audiences of all ages.
